"...Nice mare, kid gentle, sweet, bottle raised baby. Prefers people to horses. Very timid in large groups of horses, lets the others run her so bad she loses weight. She has all the basic ground manners and 30 days of riding a bit over a year ago, but I don't know how much of that she has retained. She is getting weight back on and doing well. Very friendly and loving. Very homely mare, belonged to a friend of ours who travels frequently. She has left Dory behind twice and both times the caregiver has not fed her properly and she has been starved down. We promised to get her back in shape and find her a good home. She is sound, but because she was starved down twice during a crucial growing stage, she has stiff front knees. It is hard to explain, they are not crooked, but just her joints are stiff, she has no trouble moving or running or trotting, no lameness at all, she just kind of swings the legs out a big while running."
