Gabi, words are not sufficient to express how I feel about Jonah. I am so very sorry this happened. If we hadn't been out shopping for horse items, I would have been home to put him in the barn when the rain started. That storm just snuck up. I still can't believe this happened. Just the day before, I got my first snuggle from him. He stepped forward and I lowered my head and he nuzzled my head and neck while I touched his face. He was sooo sweet. I loved them both immediately and looked forward to seeing them grow up together.
As for Logan, he definitely needs a friend. He's doing ok but he has that look in his eyes that says things aren't just right. I worked with him a lot after Jonah died ( I still can't believe I'm typing those words) and by the end of the day was brushing, petting and hugging his neck. I really love him and will do anything for him. Just this evening I was brushing his face and over his eyes and ears with a soft face brush. He liked it and is getting very used to our touch. He was so hot that we put an air conditioning unit in the tack room and it blows out into the barn. He's eating it up and hanging out with either his head or his butt near the tack room window.
I know that some horses will try to establish a pecking order and I really don't want to risk getting a horse that will do that with Logan so it would probably be best to get one of his previous friends from your group. If you think Ghost would be the one he gets along with best that would be fine with me. And please be assured that Ghost would never be thought of as just the horse that came to be Logan's friend. We would love him as much as Jonah and Logan.... Ramona
