UPDATE - Joey is under professional saddle training since 01/22/2007 to improve his chances of finding his PERFECT FOREVER home !!!

  • Full Shire
  • Dam: Mia's Sister - Full bay Shire
  • Born 2002 or 2003
  • Beautiful long mane & tail - with full feathers
  • Roman nose (profile)
  • Approx. 17 hands - not fully grown yet
  • Beautiful rich bay with light-colored belly
  • Completely symmetrical markings - 2 rear white socks, 2 front black & silver socks
  • NO BLAZE - Big star and a tiny snip
  • Fully vaccinated, Coggins tested, wormed multiple times, trimmed
  • Halter-trained, leads, ties, stands for Vet
  • Has been saddled a few times about 9 months ago, but never ridden (still too young)
  • Total people horse - follows me everywhere and leaves hay & food to get some loving
  • Joey is at the very bottom of the pecking order - never shows any aggression
  • Extremely calm, gentle and well-mannered - I can sit underneath him to brush his legs
  • And here comes "the bad", which should ALL be resolved after his training on 2/22/07:
  • Joey is still a little head-shy at times but loves to have his face scratched - gently
  • Due to lack of time, we have not worked on standing-for-the-farrier yet
  • He needs more training to pick up his feet and hold them
  • Once in a while Joey paws - when I'm feeding a horse separately and he can't get in
  • Ready for pick-up: ANYTIME after training 02/22/2007
  • Transportation Fees HERE

Joey was born on a PMU farm and wasn't handled until last spring. He came here in April-2006 and he stole my heart the second he walked off the trailer. I wanted to keep him so bad, but Joey is such a loving and attention-seeking horse, and it breaks my heart that I can't give him all the love, time and attention he craves and deserves. So if I can find a home for Joey that can offer him a better life, I will have to let him go. However, his adoption fee won't be cheap - he's a one-in-a-million horse and I will make absolutely sure that he will go to a financially stable home - somebody who sees his/her dreamhorse in Joey and is fully committed to him for a lifetime. Joey is a pretty sensitive, smart and willing horse, so I would love to see him go to somebody who believes in Natural Horsemanship.... Also, I will not force a radical climate change on Joey, and therefor won't approve his adoption to FL, AZ, or a similar hot and/or humid climate. Joey loves the cold, dry climate - he has an amazingly thick and long winter-coat right now, and for some reason he is always so clean and "fluffy".... I love Joey very, very much, and if you are seriously interested in adopting him, please submit an adoption questionnaire and prepare for a very thorough screening process........

Adoption fee: $2,250.00 plus training fees
