NOTE 7/10/2007: Sarah's previous owner said that one of Sarah's hind hock joints was very slightly off - unsure if it was just stiff, Arthritis, or possibly from an old injury. HOWEVER, during the last 2 weeks while Sarah has been in foster-care, she showed NO signs of any discomfort, pain, injury or other problems. She's even gallopping with the other horses and seems fine. So as of now, there is no reason why Sarah wouldn't be sound for riding or driving !!
UPDATE 10/3/2007: Sarah's foster mom has now noticed some occasional stiffness in one of Sarah's hind legs. It improves when Sarah is out on pasture grazing, and it gets a little worse when she is not moving a lot (standing in a stall or out eating hay). Sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes not. It sounds very much like signs of Arthritis. So Sarah needs a home with pasture and daily joint supplement, but light work would still be possible as long as her symptom/condition doesn't get worse........
